Why WindowCost exists
Every other UK window site hides the price. We show it first.
Search "window replacement cost UK" on Google and you land on the same pattern every time — a quiz, a progress bar, a fake "searching for providers in your area" delay, and then a phone and email wall you have to feed to a Malta-registered lead broker before you see a single number. The number isn't for you; the number is whatever the highest bidder installer is willing to pay for your contact details.
WindowCost is the opposite of that. Our cost estimator shows you a real price range the moment you pick a material and a postcode — before you're asked for anything. Our 41 cost guides cover frame materials, glazing technology, building regulations, and grants in more technical depth than any competitor. Our 61 town pages use UK-sourced regional labour indices, not an invented price-by-area formula.
Who runs this
WindowCost is a project of SaaSquatch Ltd, a London-based editorial + tools company. We publish independent UK cost guides across property, renewables, and home improvement — our work covers solar (IWantSolar), property (Unmortgageable), film location (Filmshoot), and now windows.
Editorial is a team effort across SaaSquatch staff + freelance contributors. Content is reviewed and signed off by the SaaSquatch editorial desk before publication. If you want a specific named contact on a piece, email us and we'll put you in touch with whoever authored it.
How we make money
We earn when readers click through to installers or retailers via affiliate links — clearly marked with our affiliate disclosure. That's it. We don't sell leads. We don't ask for your phone number before showing you a price. We don't operate a callback farm. Our job is to tell you the truth about what windows cost in the UK in 2026; the affiliate revenue follows only if we do that job well.
Because we don't operate on the lead-broker model, our recommendations aren't biased toward whichever installer pays the most per lead. When our guides say "Safestyle is a budget option but Everest offers longer warranties", that's the honest read, not a pay-to-play ranking.
Our editorial policy
- Every price is sourced. See our methodology page for the full data trail.
- No fake urgency. No countdown timers, no "3 people viewing this page" popups, no "only 2 slots left" lies.
- No email or phone walls. Our cost estimator runs entirely in your browser. The email form is optional, clearly labelled, and only used if you ask for a PDF copy.
- Affiliate links are disclosed inline. When we link to Anglian, Everest, Checkatrade, Velux, Origin or anyone else, we say so.
- We correct mistakes publicly. If a price figure is off, we update the cell, log the change, and note it on our methodology page.
